Flying trip to London...

Blimey - travelled to London yesterday by choo choo .  We rarely let the train take the strain (to coin the old advert) but, having costed flights at more than £1000 for two Glasgow London returns, we decided to give it a go.  In light of all the BA worries costs had perhaps been hiked up by Virgin but, even at £500, they were still half the price of flying.  Our verdict? A swift journey which kind of equated, time wise, to catching a plane.  How so?  Well, think of it this way...  Glasgow cab to train, relax without getting up and down, off train and then a cab to our London apartment.   5 hours all in.  As opposed to cab to airport, sit around, bag check etc etc etc.  Luggage dalays at other end, wait ages for an airport cab and then another hour from Heathrow into Chelsea.  Sometimes that can also take 5 hours in total - with a load more stress to boot.  On the downside the train meals were shocking and they ran out of half the things we hoped for.  Hey ho.    But we'd probably do it again.  Just for the record - Richard Branson once told us to 'SHOOSH' when we shared a table at a charity dinner in Canada.  Mind you, we were in very high spirits and Elvis Costello was singing at the time for guests.  So admitedly we should have been whispering.  But we were with Dita Von Teese and we were having SUCH a good time.  Oh, and Stockard Channing was with us too and she can chatter!  How many people can say they've been chastised by the Virgin King!?  We still smile thinking about that one...

Went for dinner last night to a fab resto in Putney with our good pals Mark and Mark and had a gorgeous time catching up with all the goss'.  We also popped by to see their fab' new house in Putney.  It's already super lovely but they have all manner of ambitious plans to make it extra HAWT!  And, knowing them, it'll be stunning...

As much as we could have partied until the wee small hours we elected to behave ourselves and had quite an early night  as we were working today with Ideal Standard on their 'Don't Move Improve' campaign. We had great fun based  from a central London studio doing 20 ISDN radio interviews with some lovely regional hosts.  We enjoyed a great response and everyone was interested in the fact that a recent survey (conducted by Ideal Standard) revealed the majority of Brit's are terrified of carrying out bathroom renovations.   Even though doing so has such a positive effect on subsequent sales values...

Our job was to explain the benefit of creating a new look for the smallest room.. and we were so comfortable doing this; bathroom reno's, you see, are one of our favourite projects.  In fact in our own Glsgow house we've been undertaking serious refurbishment!

Now that we're almost back home in Glasgow (we're writing this on the train via TMobile) we've got blood on our minds.  True Blood, that is.  It's our FAVOURITE TV series.  And then we'll be having another early night.  Lots on the go tomorrow!

More later...
