Our Heroes

As usual, last night's Daily Record Our Heroes Awards - a truly inspiring event.  It was really touching to hear wonderful tales about wonderful people, all of whom work tirelessly for the betterment of others.  From tiny kids facing dreadful illness, to war veterans who fought for our country, it was an utterly humbling night.  What we liked most about the evening was that although many of the stories were very sad, they were all tinged with positivity.  A reminder to all of us to count our blessings?

We managed to get home before 2.30am -  four hours earlier than last year.  And we resisted the lure of the burger van at Charing Cross.  Staright to bed but then up with the larks today as we have Trees R Green doing the last of our window boxes.  There's something lovely about being up so early: as much as we like a long lie in, it's also good to tackle the day ahead from early bells.  Kind of stretches the day to cover extra fun! And meanwhile - it's SO sunny in Glasgow.   Our wee garden looks gorgeous, bathed as it is in that dreamy early morning light.  HOWEVER - if we get our hands on that naughty blackbird who's tearing our flower beds apart there will be STERN words!!

More later... xx
