Lovely peeps at Air Canada

OMG - crawling out of bed this morning when the alarm went off at 5.30am was a horrifying task of mind over matter.  Worked SOOOOOOOOOO late to get everything in order so we can head to Canada to work for a few weeks without having to worry about a back log of stuff at home in Scotland.  But it's all good now...

But anyway - the fatigue.  Battled our way up 67 stairs to our bathroom (ours is a tall house so it can be a bit of a treck) and doused ourselves down in Miss Matey to shake of our sonambulistic trauma.  Sat out on the terrace for a wee while with coffee and wept when the sun came up.  Glasgow is SO gorgeous at that time of day.

Frantic rushing ensued then we grabbed a cab to Glasgow airport before settling for brekky on the hoof as our flight was already boarding.

When we got to Heathrow there was a woman with two live chickens - one under each arm - at the check in desk.  Now that's something you don't often see.  Not entirely sure what was going on there...

Now safely tucked up in the business lounge having been given a full upgrade by the lovely folk at Air Canada.  SO glad we booked those economy tickets as doing so (and then getting an upgrade) saved us a couple of thousand bucks.  Nice.  Think we'll spend that on gorgeous things for our Toronto condo or put it towards our long anticipated new bathroom.  Time will tell.

So hoorah - the prospect of our flight to Toronto just got a whole load lovelier.  We shall be stretched out in those lovely Air Canada 'pods' like two young princes lying in state.  Let's just hope we dont get so full on champagne that we're lying there in a RIGHT STATE!

For now we need to dash.  There's a massive carraot cake in the lounge bar and it looks mighty tempting.  But there's also a little kid in braces eyeing it up greedily.  He looks like he could manage the whole lot in one big bite: if, that is, he could just get it past those wired teeth.  Perhaps his parents should introduce him to the joys of salads.  Just saying...

Gonna have a very early night tonight in Toronto when we get back.  We're not as young as we used to be you know and we need a little recovery time after a transatlantic jaunt to get back in gear.  We're doing Virgin Radio tomorrow so we'll be up at Dawn's crack.  As it were...

Later tomorrow we'll take the hood off our car (weather permitting) and take a sping down to Cherry Beach for the afternoon.  And if it starts to p*** down we'll go crazy.  Oops, sorry... too late.

Gotta dash.  More later...
