Squirrel Nutkin

Met this MAHOOSIVE squizzel today in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. Perched daintily on hind legs, its commanding stature equalled perhaps 20 inches. Jurassic. As big as a small pooch or a medium sized pussy, he was double friendly and had a massive appetite for nuts. He literally scampered across our knees at one point, staring fixedly at us all the time, as if he might peck out our eyes at any moment. We say 'he' but the fluffy friendly creature might as easily have been a 'she'. Who can say for sure with all that walloping great tail mass to hide its modesty. And there were no vets on hand to discern gender...
